Teams Next Season

By Tom Little

The final promotion spot to National League 1 was finally settled on Saturday with the win by Worthing Raiders over pre-season favourites Stourbridge in the second division play off between the runners up in the north and south leagues.

In summary for National League 1:-

Champions and promoted to the Championship-Ealing Tfs

Relegated from the Championship- Doncaster Knights

Relegated from National League 1- Cambridge, Sedgley Park, Macclesfield.

Promoted to National League 1 – Henley Hawks, Hull Ionian, Worthing Raiders.

Congratulations to Ealing for their promotion they were the most consistent side and played the most attractive style of rugby.

Commiserations to the three relegated sides and welcome to one of Coventry Rugby old adversaries Doncaster Knights following their relegation from the Championship.

Two of the three promoted sides to National League 1, Hull Ionian and Worthing Raiders are new to this league as indeed they are to Coventry Rugby, the third side Henley Hawks have been here before and are well known to Coventry fans.

All three sides play an attractive fast offloading game so another exciting season is in prospect in what has become known as the league of death.

Testimonials

"Coventry RFC provide many great rugby moments, some of which will stay with me forever. Every member of staff working at the club are key and the fans are a true reflection of the club's ethic. All the players give 110% and play for the shirt. These are the reasons I support the club"
